Bluetooth to RS232/RS422/RS485 Adaptors
Bluetooth Downloads
For short range wireless data applications we distribute a range of Bluetooth to Serial Data converters. These can be used in pairs as Bluetooth modems to replace a serial cable or can be used in conjunction with a Bluetooth enabled PC (or a PC with an external Bluetooth USB dongle) to give the PC licence-exempt wireless access to an RS232, RS422 or RS485 serial port on a remote device.
The Bluetooth Adapter is configured by the user to pair it with another Bluetooth device (not necessarily of the same type) to give an exclusive point-to-point connection between them. Pairing is done utilizing the Bluetooth Address and PIN code. After the initial pairing has been carried out, the Bluetooth to Serial Adapter will automatically try to link (if set as Master) or to be linked (if set as Slave) with the paired device

The RS232 and the RS485/RS422 versions of the product both require an external 5V dc supply. A suitable ac mains power unit can be supplied as an option.
The devices can be configured using a PC locally connected to the serial port, although to do this, the PC must have a matching serial port or be fitted with an external serial interface convertor. We can provide suitable convertors as an option if required. Alternatively, the devices can be configured over-the-air through the Bluetooth link.
