The IRT Radio Modem Series is currently under development as a range of highly flexible DIN rail mountable remote radios capable of handling both RS232 and IP (internet protocol) traffic for scanning telemetry or point to multi-point data applications.
By including RS232 and 10Base-T interfaces in a single radio unit, the IRT will be suitable for both new installations and the migratory upgrade of existing systems.

When using just the RS232 port, the IRT will provide the same advanced features as our well established ART, SRT and URT products and will communicate not only with our own base-stations, but also with existing products from a number of other manufacturers.
Once the base-station is upgraded to an IP capable version, the IP ports on selected IRT remotes can then be brought into service without needing to change the radio hardware on any remote site and without needing to transfer to IP operation on all remote sites at the same time.
Using our established XRT9000 Base-station in conjunction with a matching XRT Router Shelf, a mixed network can be established with the IRT remotes simultaneously supporting both traditional RS232 serial data and IP traffic.
The IRT supports over-air data rates up to 9,600bps and is being designed to meet the rigorous European ETS 300-113 performance specifications and also the VNS2111 (MPT1411) requirements for licensed UK telemetry systems.
